This was the most challenging tour I have done. The training and training tour were invaluable in preparing me for the harder sections of the BDR’s. It is amazing how much abuse these bikes and riders can safely take. Dusty and his crew made accommodations for the various bikes and riding styles while not adversely affecting the group ride. I recommend West38Moto for all ADV riders that want to see beautiful scenery and improve their riding skills. Finally, Dusty’s enthusiasm, optimism, and encouragement were contagious. I am so happy I found West38Moto online and took their 2 day Level 2 training, followed by the 1 day ride. I like that Dusty and his trainers genuinely love what they do and that is infectious. Every one of the trainees had a positive attitude and had a good time, with no pressure, but lots of encouragement. I liked that the company focuses on what they are good at (training) and doesn't try to do everything. The location and training environment was ideal with the land owners' participating in every activity and spending time with us in a very gracious way. This was my first real trip on my adventure bike after several years of ownership and I now know more about what it (and I the rider) are capable of. It was an amazing experience. The staff were all very knowledgeable and made sure to give direct feedback for each rider. The groups were small enough that we had 1 instructor per 4 students. The camping was very fun and the route that I would recommend over staying in a hotel. It made speaking with other students before and after class easier for me. Everything was an amazing educational experience that I will definitely recommend to others.

Dusty and his team create a great environment to learn how to ride better on your motorcycle. With encouragement, positive correction, and inspiration, Matt led the level two class well so all the riders became better. This was my fifth class, and I will definitely take another. Everyone needs to get more education and this is a fantastic way to do it. I highly recommend you take the course if you have an adventure bike and want more confidence taking it off road.

I can't say enough about the trainers: Dusty, Matt, Dave, and Rodney. They were all super helpful and knowledgeable. But equally as important, they were fun to be around. I learned tons and am already scheduled to do Level II. A great investment.

This is the second event I have done with West38Moto. I had a great time. Dusty and his crew (Matt and Dave) were helpful, attentive and enjoyable. No detail was missed. Dusty, Matt, and John of West38Moto were super attentive to our every need. Highlights: Pre-tour off-road training is a must-do! Matt’s menu and meal prep was excellent: always tasty, filling, and healthy. Any adventure tour can have its share of, ahem, adventures. Nature’s weather, mechanical issues, guests logistics, and even emergencies. It was amazing how the guides handled anything and everything with just plain ease. Tour guiding was the best. Every day’s pre-ride brief was spot on. We had enough information to be confident about what’s ahead without taking away any of the adventure. Evolving conditions were no problem for on-the-fly route changes that made perfect sense to all, even leading to unexpected thrills and experiences we might never have had otherwise. Exactly why you want a guide. Cost wise, these folks can ask for more. Seriously. And I intend to do more tours with them, whenever I can!

Dusty and his team know how to balance a great adventure riding experience, challenging enough yet doable, along with wonderful hospitality and a warm, welcoming and relaxing environment. Along with a great group of both 'repeats' and new riders, this tour offered seeing Colorado's breath-taking scenery in a way that only adventure riding could offer. What a great 3 days of off-road training! Great teachers and a beautiful rustic setting. Dusty, Matt, and John made us quickly feel more confidence as we progressed through the drills during the two days of training. And then putting it all together on the day three ride was fantastic! I'm jealous that I wasn't able to join the group on the Colorado BDR ride immediately after this training session. Will definitely be back for more advanced training and/or another BDR ride!

Dusty and team put on an incredible trip! His expert knowledge of the route, alternate routes, points of interest, and camping/lodging came in handy during some of the occasional thunder storms. Dusty has a great way with people, and is an excellent coach. We had a great time! 10/10 would do again!

The training was excellent. The 3 coaches (Dusty, John, and Matt) are proficient riders who know how to teach and transmit their knowledge with clarity and skill. They also shared how to apply the drills learned to real life scenarios, which was an important part of my experience as an intermediate rider.

What a wonderful weekend spent with Dusty, his team and all the other fellow riders!! I can't wait to do the level 2 next year. I gain a lot of confidence riding on dirt. Dusty is such an enthusiastic, passionate and generous guy, definitely he knows have to make this training really fun. John and Matt have been so helpful also. I highly recommend training with them!!

Excellent instruction. I learned a lot about my bike. Even though it was much smaller than all the BMWs, Matt was excellent in providing clear instruction for me and my smaller bike. I cannot wait to save up for level 2 training. In the mean time hopefully I will be able to do the one day ride in August.

Dusty and his crew organized a great riding experience! He knows the ups and downs of the route extremely well, guiding riders through sand and over rock. The immersive coaching along the ride helped me and others sharpen skills and have a great ride, as well. The sights (terrain, sky, and wildlife!) on the BDR are not to be missed. Food on the tour was tasty and abundant, with attention to riders' dietary restrictions. Campsites were memorable with basic or better amenities. The two hotels were comfortable, clean, and were a nice break at the right times. If you have some training before the ride, you, too, can enjoy even the challenging parts of this route and make some great memories on two wheels!

Really great experience! Dusty and his team are patient, good humored and always meet you where you are. Riding a 550lb motorcycle in challenging and remote conditions is hard, the skills are perishable so training can never be something you do just once. Every time I’ve ridden with Dusty I’ve not only had a terrific time with amazing like-minded people, I improve both my knowledge and my execution of backcountry riding skills. I trust Dusty to push me to the next level, every time we ride.

For me, the training was a peak experience. The culture that Dusty has created and nurtured is a fascinating combination of warmth and encouragement with a rugged fun.. The team members that he has put together are fantastic teachers.

Had a wonderful time. Fantastic atmosphere with passionate, kind hearted people that love to ride. A special thanks to Dusty, Bryan, John and Colin! They will do anything they can to prepare you to be the best you can be. We had about 12 in our group torql between 1 and 2 levels. Went out for group dinners, and sat around and talked in the mornings and after dinners about technics, family ...just about anything. So glad I went. Highly recommended!!

Although I have owned an Adventure motorcycle for over 20 years, substantially all of my riding experience had been riding on the street. I decided that it was time to expand my riding horizon to include off-road riding as well and I began to research (primarily through YouTube and website searches) various training programs. West38Moto stood out to me as the perfect fit...and it certainly turned out to be a tremendous experience. The location, instructors and classmates were outstanding. Two days of working on the fundamentals while being encouraged by very experienced coaches, followed by a day long training ride with instructors to apply what we had learned was a very effective course structure. (If you have the time, i highly recommend the day long training ride). I'm really looking forward to attending the level II training to further advance my riding skills. I recently took West 38 Moto’s Level 2 adventure motorcycle class, which was an incredible experience. This class significantly improved both my riding skills and confidence when navigating off-road terrains on big adventure motorcycles. The curriculum was well-structured, and Level 2 catered to riders with prior experience riding off-road motorcycles (they offer Level 1 if you don’t – which I previously took). The instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and extremely skilled. They provided clear, practical instructions and personalized feedback, ensuring everyone made progress. Their passion for off-road riding and teaching is evident, which made the learning process engaging and fun. Not only that, but the laid-back environment put me at ease, making it easy to focus on learning and improving. The environment was supportive and encouraging, which added to the overall positive experience. The class focuses on exactly what you need to know to ride the trail, and not on trivial things you’ll never use. We covered various techniques essential for off-road riding, such as handling the bike in slow tight turns, navigating steep inclines and declines, mastering tight turns on uneven terrain, and many more essential skills. Each exercise was designed to build our confidence and competence progressively. I rode several thousand miles through several states to do a BDR ride and found it to be an almost impossible ride. At the time I legitimately thought about quitting riding adventure motorcycles, I almost convinced myself I just didn’t have the off-road riding skills. But I decided to take a few courses from West 38 Moto (Level 1 and now Level 2) to give it one last try before throwing in the towel. I can't recommend West 38 Moto enough, it transformed my ability to ride off-road and made me a better on-road rider too. For anyone looking to learn how to properly ride off-road motorcycles, or just enhance their off-road motorcycle riding abilities, West 38 Moto is the place to do it. If you take the instruction seriously, pay attention, put in the effort, and are willing to learn you'll find immense value in the expert instruction and practical experience offered. The perfect mix of challenging rides and scenic rides; as always with Dusty and his trusted guides all riders and motorcycles were taken care of very well. We all felt we got a lot of new skills and confidence, doesn’t get any better!

Excellent, well-organized, well-delivered Adventure training by very skilled, very dedicated instructors who have a deep heart for their craft and are willing to meet their riding students where they are (skills wise), including individualized instruction as needed. Oh, and the entire experience, while challenging, was certainly a lot of fun; the instructors, and the other students, were absolutely delightful to spend time with, both during the training events themselves and afterward at the group dinners. I can see why so many in the class were repeat students who showed up again because, as they shared, there's always something more to learn from the West38 Moto training programs.

This was my 2nd time taking level 1. Really reinforced those skills and also picked up some knowledge I must have forgotten about the first time. I'm now more confident controlling my speed when going downhill! Great instructors.

The 5-day Baja trip was awesome! Dusty and Tom took excellent care of the group and everybody had a great time. They knew all the ins and outs of Baja, the riding and scenery were unbelievable. Miles if dirt roads through the mountains and along the coast. The hotel accommodations and food were all top notch. I'm planning another trip with them soon, can't wait. If you are considering going to Baja, I say book it now!!! You won't regret it.

The experience was better than PERFECT... Dusty and Tom were amazing instructors. The 2 days of drills they put us thru were truly a boot camp for the 3rd day of riding 3 of us did with Tom. I cant emphasize how import it is to do the 3rd day if you possibly can. The "real world" situations you experience bring together the previous 2 days of "drills" they put us thru. Dusty and Tom were always positive and encouraging even if we were having trouble absorbing the "fire hose" of info they were directing at us. I have encouraged all my street bike riding friends to take this course if they ever want to ride in the dirt. Thanks West 38 Moto for making this transition from road to dirt safer and lots more fun. Now onward to Baja!

I found Dusty on YouTube and have been watching all of his videos. having bought a new GSA, I needed to make sure I knew how to ride off-road and what to do in order not to get injured. So when I met him for level one he did just the required basic riding techniques and at Level II more in detail followed by a day of advanced riding which I think is essential for us to practice what we just learned on the two-day program. His explanation and how he conducts his teaching and training make you so comfortable that you become one with the bike. If you are an old-time rider like me or new and looking to improve what you think you know, this is always a good review course. I'm planning to join him on his 5-day trip to Baja soon and extremely happy with the learning and 100% recommend it to you all.

I had an amazing experience in Baja with Dusty, Kelly & John leading the way. Their knowledge of the area, routes chosen, lodging selections and food were all way beyond my expectations. Not only was the trip so good but it was also an unbelievable value. While I wouldn't _want_ to spend more I do think Dusty could charge more for all that he provides. I look forward to doing another tour with Dusty and team!!!

Completely exceeded my expectations. The riding was fantastic - about 50/50 dirt to pavement, generally easy terrain. Scenic, fantastic locations, travelling through interesting Baja villages. Food was exceptional - from street vendors to gourmet, it was always a positive surprise. Fun assortment of bikes, riding styles, and fun other travelers with great camaraderie. And our guides were over-the-top professional - explaining each days ride, safety protocols for each segment and the challenges coming up, and attentive to everyone enjoying the experience. And they're fun and funny. Dusty is a big personality where nearly everything he says ends with an infectious laugh. Our other guide, Kelly, by comparison is more soft spoken and tenderhearted, so together they make a great team. They are as good of guides as they are riders. Will definitely ride with them again.

West38moto's 5-day Baja tour hits on all cylinders! Professionally guided and carefully planned, ensuring a fun and doable route for all riders, with options for experienced riders to challenge themselves. Wide range of trails, from long mountain 2-track with stunning vistas, water crossings, miles of wet sand on a beach (so fun!), nice twisty pavement, and trails tracing the bluffs along gorgeous shoreline. Accommodations ranged from warmly hospitable and clean in one remote stop, to quite luxurious and spacious in others. And then there was the food, which ranged from great to awesome, causing several people to suggest the ride be rebranded as a Culinary Tour of Baja. Most importantly, Dusty has engaged a very supportive and positive support staff, who fostered camaraderie within the group and made us feel seen, heard and well taken care of at all times. We whisked through the border in both directions. Dusty helped speed the paperwork on the way in, and on the way back led us through a shortcut to the head of the line, which is allowed for motorbikes, so the return crossing took only a few minutes. I highly recommend this one and am starting to eye the 8-day tour in my future.

I took both Level 1 and Level 2 with Dusty’s West38Moto and couldn’t be happier! He and his crew are great instructors and have learned so much. I fully intend on continuing future training with them. I live in Southern California where there’s a lot of sand and it is tough. These guys will build your confidence and show you how do handle it. But beyond that, I did injure myself and Dusty and his crew got me out of there in there support vehicle. I cannot say enough of those guys! I highly recommend this training and I’m looking forward to future rides with them!
